Surveying Operations Manager

The Role
The successful candidate will oversee the introduction of a topographical and utilities mapping service within an established ground investigation business. This role entails managing surveying operations, building a competent team, and ensuring the efficient delivery of services to both public and private sector clients across various locations in the UK.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish the new surveying service line, including compliance with legislation and health and safety protocols
- Manage and execute surveying tasks, including topographic and utilities surveys
- Prepare quotations and liaise with clients to understand their specific needs
- Maintain and manage surveying equipment, ensuring it is calibrated and serviced
- Oversee data collection, input, and maintenance processes
- Develop technical procedure documents for the company's Operations Manual
- Ensure high standards of customer service and maintain client relationships
- Take ownership of projects from initiation to completion
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in land surveying
- Proficient in surveying software, including LSS, MBS, and AutoCAD
- Strong working knowledge of various surveying tasks
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members
- IT literate in office software packages
- Membership of a professional body such as RICS is preferred
- Willingness to undertake further training as necessary
