Utility Surveyor – Rail Sector

The Role

The successful candidate will take on the responsibility of accurately locating, mapping, and documenting underground utilities in compliance with PAS 128 standards. This role will focus on rail infrastructure projects across the North West, South Yorkshire, and Midlands regions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct utility detection surveys using Ground-Penetrating Radar (GPR) and Electromagnetic Location (EML) equipment
  • Interpret utility records and on-site findings to create precise survey documentation
  • Assist in the development of detailed utility survey drawings and reports
  • Support quality assurance and quality control checks on survey data
  • Perform site risk assessments and contribute to method statements before survey work
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure project objectives are met
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards and best practices

Requirements

  • Experience in utility surveying, preferably in the rail or construction sectors
  • Proficient in the use of survey equipment, techniques, and relevant software
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel as required
